WebNov 8, 2024 · The stripping run is the easier and rougher of these two runs. Each distillation removes flavours and increases the ethanol percentage of the spirit. The result from a stripping run will have 5-6 times the ethanol concentration and a fifth to a sixth of the volume of the original wash. WebTypically the 1.0mm insert is good for stripping runs and then on the final cut you can use the 0.6mm insert. Alternatively you can use the ball valve to control the spirit flow too but this is a sensitive adjustment and required a bit more skill for this type of manual adjustment so we recommend you just use the brass inserts that come included.

WebStripping runs are fun with it because there's no real need to manage temp, but spirit runs... the robobrew gets to temp and switches off, and the fall before it switches back on is far too long for holding at a steady temp. Some recommended a jacket which might have some effect but it really needs the consistent application of heat. 2
