WebEstablished in 2007, Sea-Change Sailing Trust is made up of a small team of three, who strive to continue the tradition of sea sailing barge. In 2024 the team, with the help of many others, built their own barge, a replica of the original 1930s Blue Mermaid, which was one of the last Thames sailing barges built. WebThe Sea-Change Sailing Trust offers sailing experiences around the coastal waters of the Thames Estuary, usually from its base in Maldon, Essex. SHTP 2 training placement Trainees have the opportunity to sail aboard Blue Mermaid, hosting parties of young people as part of youth development programmes, and chartered cruises.
